Task 1 & Task 2

Primary research is any type of research that you go out and collect yourself, there is various ways including surveys, interviews, observations, among other things.

Advantages:
  • Survey's could be done online, which would make it a lot faster
  • Interviews: Seems to tell the interviewer more about you
  • Observation: The analyst would be able to see what is being done
Disadvantages:
  • Survey: Respondents may not be fully aware of their reasons for any given answer because of lack of memory on the subject, or even boredom.
  • Interview: They could be very time consuming
  • Observation: This also could be very time consuming
Secondary research is research that is carried out with already existing data. This means you can go out to any library for example and look for the information that you need. It uses materials as books, magazines, journals, newspapers among others.

Advantages:

  • Books: They are easy to access
  • Magazines & Newspapers: These will ensure quality up to date information
  • Journals: They are portable, and are filled with a huge amount of data
Disadvantages:
  • Books: They could be out-dated
  • Magazines & Newspapers: The stories and information in these two methods, they could elaborate the story
